Out Of Order

Malvern Theatre, 2.30pm
(Depart from Nailsworth at 12.30pm)

When a Government Junior Minister plans to spend the evening with one of the Opposition’s typists in the Westminster Hotel, things go disastrously wrong – beginning with the discovery of a body trapped in the hotel’s only unreliable sash window. Desperately trying to get out of an extremely sticky situation, things quickly go from bad to worse.

This stellar company includes Arthur Bostrom, best known for his iconic role as ‘Officer Crabtree’ in classic sitcom ‘Allo ‘Allo, as the ‘Hotel Manager’, alongside Shaun Williamson (EastEnders, Extras) as ‘George Pigden’; Sue Holderness (Only Fools & Horses, Green Green Grass) as ‘Mrs Willey’; Andrew Hall (Butterflies, Coronation Street) as ‘Richard Willey’; Susie Amy (Footballers’ Wives) as ‘Jane Worthington’; James Holmes (Miranda) as the ‘Waiter’; Elizabeth Elvin as ‘Nurse Foster’; Jules Brown as ‘Ronnie Worthington’, and David Warwick as ‘The Body’. Completing the cast are Raphael Bar, Simon Murray, and Kate Sawyer.

Recognised as ‘the master of farce’ (The Telegraph), Ray Cooney’s credits also include Run For Your Wife, Funny Money and Move Over Mrs Markham.

We will drive to the Kings Head, Upton St. Leonards (GL4 8AA) from where John and Sally will lead us on a 6 mile walk.
One fairly long steep climb, 16 stiles, 5 gates and 2 bridges.
Lunch at the Kings Head.

The ramble this month was 6.2 miles long, starting and ending at The Kings Head in Upton-St-Leonards.  The weather was perfect – sunny but not too hot.  We had to negotiate 16 stiles and 5 gates, and a long steep climb but the views from the top were magnificent if a little hazy.  Besides the village lanes, fields of yellow buttercups with cattle, sheep and horses, we also walked along woodland pathways in the Kites Hill Reserve.
